Somatic is a dual-heritage (OFFIE & ARIA Nominated) Sound Artist who’s diverse creative practice encompasses creating sonic stories for theatre, dance, podcast, screen, club dancefloors and DJing. Although his sonic identity is rooted in sound systems and dance music culture his influences are formed from the cinematic rural landscape he grew up in and the myriad of global genres absorbed and expanded upon from his upbringing.
Recent notable work includes; The Accountants (Factory International) an internationally touring contemporary dance-based audio-visual spectacle [3 Stars The Times & Guardian], Sonic Landscapes of Colour - a 2-part (Audio & Radio Industry Awards - Best factual series 2023 Nominated) audio-documentary broadcast on the BBC that shares the stories of young people of colour who have grown up in the South West.
The VR film “Child of Empire” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival (2022), DJ sets at festivals such as Boomtown & Glastonbury, The play Daytime Deewane (OFFIE Finalist Best Orignal Sound - Young Peoples Theatre) set ‘in Londons last Daytimer’ in 1997 and over 750k+ plays on streaming platforms.
